Dr. Kimura decided to take us to see the Great Gatsby on the way back to our dormitory.
And believe me, it was quite a trek! I think we came close to wrecking many times as Dr. Kimura expertly maneuvered the car around sharp turns while constantly getting higher and higher up a mountain. Once he couldn't get any higher or further, we got out and legged it up steps and steep slopes to finally reach the mythical monument . . .
It's a Buddhist temple/prayer site of sorts. Perched high above the city, me completely loopy from being out of breath, the structure seemed magnificient. You'd think I had found Xanadu!
It is beautiful though. Simple but elegant.
